Vice President Yadav and Vietnam’s Vice President Xuan hold delegation-level bilateral talks
Discussion focuses on boosting religious and cultural tourism
Kathmandu: Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has held a delegation-level bilateral meeting with Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, who is on a three-day official visit to Nepal.
According to Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prakash Adhikari, the two leaders discussed the religious and cultural ties between Nepal and Vietnam and explored opportunities to promote religious and cultural tourism.
Discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral relations based on friendship, goodwill, and mutual respect for sovereignty, and cooperating on shared interests in international forums.
Both sides agreed to facilitate high-level visits and enhance air connectivity between the two countries.
Joint Secretary Adhikari noted that Nepal expressed interest in learning from Vietnam’s rapid economic growth and investment potential.
The meeting also covered areas such as trade, investment, digital technology, and deepening people-to-people ties.
Vietnam’s Vice President Xuan arrived in Kathmandu yesterday on a three-day official visit at the invitation of Vice President Yadav. This marks the first high-level visit from Vietnam to Nepal.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visiting Vice President Xuan will also call on, and hold courtesy meetings with high dignitaries of Nepal.
The visit holds special significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Vietnam.
