Four dead, 22 injured in Sunsari road accident

Dharan: Four people died and 22 others were injured when a microbus and a passenger bus collided at Bhokraha Narsingh Rural Municipality-3 of Sunsari, this morning.

According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, the deceased have been identified as 35 year-old Shankar Mandal of Saptari, 70 year old Laxman Sada of Sunsari, Ashok Yadav of Biratnagar, and an unidentified woman, aged around 45.

All were passengers in the microbus. The accident occurred around 8 am when a microbus on the Biratnagar-Rajbiraj route collided head-on with a bus traveling from Kakadbhitta to Diktel.

Among the 22 injured are residents of Morang, Khotang, Saptari, Udayapur, Jhapa, and Ilam disticts. They are undergoing treatment at hospitals in local hospitals.

Police said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
