Vehicular operation banned for 12 hours on BP Highway
Kavrepalanchowk: Traffic operation has been restricted in the Kavrepalanchowk section along the BP Highway for 12 hours at night from July 17.
The Security Committee meeting held today at the District Administration Office, Dhulikhel has banned vehicular operation from Kavrebhanjyang to Sindhuli border, Nepalthok of the road stretch for a month.
In view of possible disastrous incidents with the monsoon getting active, the vehicular restriction has been imposed in the stated areas from 5.00 pm to 5.00 am for risk minimisation.
Earlier too, the meeting of the District Security Committees of Kavrepalanchowk, Ramechhap and Sindhuli, and the Inter-District Coordination Committee initially had banned the operation of vehicles along the BP Highway from 6.30 pm to 6.00 am since June 21 and continued the restriction up to July 16.
Chief District Officer of Kavrepalanchowk Umesh Dahakal informed that the vehicles from Kathmandu would be stopped in Kavrebhanjyang of Kavrepalanchowk and the vehicles en route to Kathmandu in Nepalthok along the Sindhuli border in view of the risk of floods and landslides.
