SAFF U-20 Women Championship: Nepal win opening match against Bhutan by 6-1

Kathmandu: Nepal won the opening match of the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship Football with a hat-trick from Purnima Rai.

The match was held at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Friday.

Nepal defeated Bhutan with a score of 6-1.

For Bhutan, Kelden Wangmo scored the consolation goal in the 54th minute.

Nepal’s Senu scored the first goal in the 9th minute. Purnima Rai added another in the 18th minute, giving Nepal a two-goal lead.

Senu scored again in the 45th minute, and Nepal led 3-0 at halftime.

Purnima scored two more goals in the 63rd and 88th minutes, completing her hat-trick.

In another match, host Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by 9-0.
