Nepali Army helicopter rescues two people trapped by swollen Trishuli River

Kathmandu: A Nepal Army helicopter has safely rescued two people trapped by the swollen Trishuli River after heavy rains near the Nepal-China border.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 67 year-old Palden Tamang, and his 62-year-old wife Mangali Tamang of Bidur Municipality-1 in Nuwakot, were caught in the sudden flood while collecting firewood along the riverbank.

Both individuals were airlifted to safety without injury. The flood was triggered by intense rainfall in the Lhende River area across the border.
