House of Representatives continues deliberations on Appropriation Bill
Kathmandu: Deliberations on the Appropriation Bill, concerning various ministries continue in the House of Representatives today.
According to the agenda released by the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Members of Parliament will discuss the budget allocations for the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens; Ministry of Finance; Ministry of Urban Development; Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers; Secretariat of the National Planning Commission; Office of the President; and the Office of the Vice President.
Proposals for expenditure cuts in the budget allocations for these ministries, submitted by some lawmakers, will also be presented.
Additionally, Speaker Devraj Ghimire is scheduled to announce changes in the membership of certain parliamentary committees under the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, the opposition Rastriya Swatantra Party has continued its protest in the House of Representatives today, demanding Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak’s resignation and an investigation into the visit visa issue.
Despite the disruption, Speaker Ghimire stated that the House would proceed to ensure timely passage of the Appropriation Bill and upcoming fiscal year’s budget.
