Foreign Affaris Minister Rana emphasizes passport as citizens’ right, urges sensitivity in service delivery

Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has underscored the importance of treating passport services as a fundamental right of the people, urging civil servants to act with sensitivity and responsibility while delivering such essential services.

Addressing an orientation program organized by the Department of Passports in Dhangadhi today, Foreign Affaris Minister Rana spoke to government employees responsible for passport services at District Administration Offices across all districts of the Far Western Province.

“A passport is no longer a luxury, but a basic right of every citizen,” she said. “Those working at the front desk are directly responsible for fulfilling this right. You must be serious and attentive to the needs and expectations of the people.”

She emphasized that civil servants in such critical service areas should prioritize citizens’ problems and focus on delivering efficient, timely, and people-centered services.

Minister Rana highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and efficiency in passport services, particularly in remote and underserved regions like the Far West.
