National Plan of Action of Monsoon Preparedness and Response on the cards

Kathmandu: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) is preparing to work on the Monsoon Preparedness and Response National Plan of Action, 2082, based on the weather forecast of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Spokesperson of NDRRMA Ram Bahadur KC said that the development of the National Plan of Action is expedited in view of the upcoming monsoon season that is entering Nepal soon.

The draft of the document is being prepared, and the possible risks have been predicted, he shared.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak had directed the Authority last week to give a final touch to the National Plan of Action while considering the weather forecast of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Minister Lekhak had directed the Authority to prepare the National Plan of Action for preparedness and response considering the loss of lives and property caused due to the monsoon-induced disasters in the past.
