Jeep safari now available in five community forests in Chitwan
Chitwan: Jeep safari for tourists has been started in five community forests of eastern Chitwan.
The Mrigakunj Forest Users Committee has started the jeep safari in the Khageri Rapti Community Forest by connecting Tikauli, Milijuli, Chitrasen, Baghmara Community Forest and Khorsor Protected Forest.
The jeep safari that begins from Khorsor Protected Forest will take tourists to observe forests, wildlife and biodiversity through Tikauli to Bishajari Lake.
This is a 20-kilometre jeep safari. Inaugurating the jeep safari on Thursday, Minister for Forests and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri said that the government has adopted a policy to use national forests in a way that improves the living standards of the local community by linking forests, wildlife and flora with tourism.
Ratnanagar Municipality Mayor Prahlad Sapkota expressed happiness that a jeep safari has been started for the first time in Ratnanagar, which is the third tourist destination after Sauraha.
Earlier, Minister Thakuri had released 15 female crocodiles into the Rapti River today.
