All parties’ unity essential to safeguard political rights: DPM Singh
Bhaktapur: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh has stressed the need for all political parties to come together to protect the rights of the people gained through various people’s movements.
Addressing the 102nd birth anniversary celebrations of Nepali Congress socialist leader Jagannath Acharya, organised by the Jagannath Acharya Memorial Foundation in Bhaktapur on Thursday morning, DPM Singh, also a Nepali Congress leader, said all the parties should stand together to protect the achievements just as the NC and the communists had stood together for the rights.
Deputy Prime Minister Singh said, ‘Whether it is the movement of 2046 BS or the people’s movement of 2062/063 BS, all the parties have come together to save this system.’
He further argued that different political changes were brought with a joint sacrifice of all; therefore, unity among them is utmost to safeguard these changes. Leaders Dhundiraj Shastri, Tilak Prakash Kayastha and Govinda Joshi were felicitated on the occasion.
Similarly, former President of Nepal Tarun Dal Binod Kayastha highlighted the contribution of Jagannath Acharya for achieving democracy and stressed the need to follow the path shown by him.
Chairman of Acharya Pratishthan, Binod Acharya, said that Jagannath Acharya had sacrificed his entire life for political change in the country.
