Youths’ role to foil anarchy, tyranny: PM Oli

Kathmandu: Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN UML, KP Sharma Oli, has said the youths have a significant role in frustrating instability, anarchy and tyranny in the country and contributing to the national ambition of ‘Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali’.

Regression must be denied by the youths, he stressed. During a programme- ‘youth celebration’- organised by his party on the Loktrantra Day at Bhrikutimandap on Thursday, PM Oli viewed it is the youths’ role to protect the federal democratic republic achieved through people’s struggle and sacrifice and realise the resolution of nation building.

‘Special awareness is necessary against those fomenting anarchy. Nepal is a great country with great people. Now the youths would move ahead accordingly,’ he reminded, assuring the people that UML would lead the progress.

The UML Chairman reminded that Baisakh 11 is the day the autocratic monarchy was defeated and loktantra got victory, so it needs celebration. The autocracy kept the country in darkness for long, so we brought the country to this stage through struggles and sacrifices, the PM recounted.

The Chairman further viewed, ‘The people who advocated for the restoration of the autocratic system were involved in the barbaric acts of torching a human alive and setting houses and media on fire and vandalising property. It is unacceptable.’

From his perspective, the elements against the nation were attacking UML and its stance for the nation. Misleading information was spread every day against the UML. The present UML-NC government is devoted to stability in the country.

He, however, said UML’s attention was more on the next election than on the government. The PM also reminded the youths that some people were inciting citizens through social networking sites, which warrants alertness.
