Complete round-up of UAE Foreign Minister’s two-day visit to Nepal
April 24, Kathmandu: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan concluded a two-day official visit to Nepal on Wednesday. The visit was aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Ali Mohamed Al Sayegh and Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs Saeed Mubarak Rashed Alhajeri, Sheikh Abdullah held key meetings with Nepali leaders.
Sheikh Abdullah paid courtesy calls on President Ram Chandra Paudel at the Office of the President in Maharajgunj and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the Office of the Prime Minister in Singha Durbar. A bilateral meeting was held at the Hilton Hotel, Kathmandu, between a Nepali delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh and the UAE delegation led by Sheikh Abdullah.
The Nepali delegation included Labour, Employment and Social Security Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, Secretary of Labour, Employment and Social Security Krishna Hari Pushkar, and senior Foreign Affairs Ministry officials.
The meetings reviewed Nepal-UAE relations, discussing political ties, high-level visits, trade, investment, economic partnerships, labour migration, human resource development, tourism, air connectivity, people-to-people relations, climate change, Sagarmatha Sambaad, and international collaboration. Both sides expressed commitment to expanding cooperation for shared prosperity.
Sheikh Abdullah and his delegation departed from Tribhuvan International Airport, seen off by Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, and senior officials.
The visit reinforces Nepal-UAE ties, with both nations focused on deepening engagement in trade, labour, and other key sectors.
