Nepal Food Festival organized in Beijing
Kathmandu, April 21: In an attempt to promote Nepali dishes and food cultures in China, the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing organised the Nepal Food Festival 2025 in the Chinese Capital City of Beijing on Monday with the slogan of “Celebrating 70 Years of Friendship: Tasting Nepali Flavours, Deepening Connections”.
The Nepal Food Festival 2025 aligns with the 70th anniversary of formal diplomatic ties between Nepal and China, and the Nepal Visit Year 2025, Acting Director of Nepal Tourism Board Sunil Sharma said. On the occasion, a video message from Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba was played, where she urged people from all over the world to directly experience the Nepali food culture by visiting Nepal.
Likewise, the Ambassador of Nepal to China Dr Krishna Prasad Oli invited all participants to enjoy the delicacies and variety of Nepali dishes prepared at the festival and believed that each dish would be a true treat to our hearts. Also speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of World Tourism Alliance Xu Peng appreciated the efforts made to promote Nepali foods and urged the participants there to experience Nepali tastes and experience local cultures associated with it.
Likewise, Vice Secretary General of the China Association of Travel Services Jin Zhan underscored the need for deepening cultural and touristic ties between Nepal and China. During the Festival, Sel Roti, Mo: Mo, Yomari, Juju Dhau, Chatamari, Bara, Gundruk, Mustang Aloo and several other Nepali food items were offered. Furthermore, a group performance of songs and cultural shows was made by Nepalis.
As many as 400 people were present at the Festival including Chinese government officials, representatives of the diplomatic community, ambassadors of Bolivia, Bulgaria, India, Japan, Sri Lanka and Panama to China, media professionals, and representatives of Nepali and Chinese communities, among others.
