Nepal Law Campus to hold FSU Election this Monday

April 19, Kathmandu: Nepal Law Campus, a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University, will conduct its Free Student Union (FSU) election on April 21 (Monday).

The election, initially scheduled for March 18 and later postponed to April 1 due to disputes among student organisations, is now proceeding following an interim order from the Patan High Court.

A coalition of two student organisations: the All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) and the All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union (Revolutionary) (ANNISU-R), has fielded a joint panel. Advocate Samir Rijal is the coalition’s presidential candidate, with Om Prakash Sunar contesting for general secretary and Asutosh Kumar Gupta for treasurer.

The Nepal Student Union (NSU) has also announced its candidates. Advocate Mohammad Mazid Prawez is running for president, while Manmohan Bhatt is the candidate for general secretary, and Bidisha Mishra is contesting for treasurer.

The FSU election at Nepal Law Campus follows nationwide student union elections held on March 18, though disputes delayed the process at several campuses, including Nepal Law Campus.

With both panels intensifying their campaigns, the election is set to be highly competitive. The results will determine the student leadership for the next two years, a platform known for shaping Nepal’s future leaders.
