PM Oli stresses on collective efforts for nation’s development

Chitwan, April 18: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called on one and all to have a common understanding regarding the country’s development.

Inaugurating the six-lane Pulchowk-Gondrang road here on Friday, the Prime Minister sought the contribution from all quarters to the nation’s development efforts.  As he said, the road project funded entirely by the government itself meets the Asian standards for roadway construction.

The Prime Minister was of the view of depoliticizing the development agenda, insisting on integrity and collective efforts in the implementation of development efforts.  “We may have diverse views, but no differing views are expected in the matter of developing the country.”

“We are the responsible for shaping the future of our nation and I again urge one and all to have combined efforts in terms of the strengthening of democracy, acceleration of democracy and institutionalization of good governance,” the Prime Minister further added.

The country has made stride in physical infrastructure sector after 2047 BS, he added, stating, the country has witnessed lots of progress in development.

He mentioned, “Chitwan is the district having historical importance since Tretra yuga. In reality, it is the place from where a civilization was started.”

An agreement was signed with Indo Sagun JV on October 12, 2020 for the construction of the road from Pulchowk of Narayangadh to Gondrang of Bharatpur. The then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had laid the foundation stone for the road upgradation on January 30, 2021.

Information Officer at the Division Road Office, Chitwan, Engineer Krishna Acharya, shared that the road was constructed at a cost of Rs 1.13 billion. The 6.08-kilometer has been widened to a 50-meter.
