Security increased in Kathmandu Valley for Holi festival
Kathmandu, March 13: Security has been enhanced in the Kathmandu Valley in preparation for the Holi festival.
Senior Superintendent of Police Binod Ghimire, Chief of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, stated that traffic checks have been intensified across Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts from this morning.
He added that this year, those who violate traffic rules will not only face penalties but will also be required to stand on the road for the entire day and will be prohibited from participating in the Holi celebrations for the rest of the day.
Security personnel, equipped with necessary gear, have been deployed at over 120 locations across the Kathmandu Valley. Both Traffic Police and Civil Police personnel are jointly conducting the security checks.
Nepal Police has urged everyone to celebrate Holi in a friendly manner with family and relatives, following time-honoured traditions.
The District Administration Offices of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur have also requested that celebrations be conducted in a disciplined manner and warned that action will be taken against those engaging in unruly behavior during the festival.
