Bhojpur school sets up e-learning centre

Bhojpur, March 11: Sanodumma Secondary School, located in Pauwadungma Rural Municipality, has established an e-learning center in a bid to make teaching and learning more technology-friendly.

The Ishwor Mandir Kathmandu Campaign supported the establishment of the e-learning center at the school in this remote hilly district. It provided 20 desktop computers, a smart TV, and a Wi-Fi setup to the school.

Sanket Koirala, General Secretary of the Campaign, informed that the e-learning facility was set up with educational materials worth Rs 800,000.

Principal Khagendra Dhakal expressed hope that the e-learning facility would help both teachers and students learn more conveniently while enhancing their knowledge of technology. He added that the new service would be utilized based on need.

He further expressed, “We’ve been able to have such a modern facility at our school. It will tremendously help us provide tech-friendly knowledge.”

Similarly, Chairman of Pauwadungma Rural Municipality, Kiran Rai, believed that the new scheme would be equally beneficial for both teachers and students. He emphasized that social reform starts in schools, so this assistance is of great value.

He further shared that the local level had initiated plans to provide life skills to the community. “In addition to building physical infrastructure for schools, we are focusing on modern, quality education with the help of various agencies,” Rai added.

According to him, all 32 community schools in the area would have tech-friendly libraries.

Former Finance Minister Shankar Koirala remarked that it was crucial to make teaching and learning tech-friendly in order to keep pace with advancements in science and technology. He added that the Ishwor Mandir Kathmandu Campaign had supported the schools to improve their teaching methods.

“It is essential to provide technological skills and facilities to students in remote schools so they can benefit from them,” he noted.

The organization, established in 2056 BS, has been providing support to various schools for many years.
