Himalaya Airlines to operate Pokhara-Lhasa commercial flight from March 31
Kathmandu: Himalaya Airlines is to operate first commercial flights from Pokhara International Airport two years after the operation of the airport. It is going to operate the flight to Lhasa of China from March 31.
Issuing a press release, the Himalaya Airlines informed about the flights to be operated connecting Kathmandu-Lhasa-Pokhara-Kathmandu.
The airline has already acquired flight permission with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for the flight to Lhasa. According to Information Officer of CAAN, Gyanendra Bhul, the airline has asked for flight permission to operate the first ‘scheduled flight’ in Lhasa.
Similarly, Sichuan Airlines of China has prepared to operate a commercial flight between Pokhara and Chengdu once a week from March 18.
However, flight permission from CAAN has not been received. Pokhara and ‘Roof of the World, Lhasa are going to expand aviation contact network. It is believed that the number of Chinese tourists in Nepal. The Himalaya Airlines has been operating five flights in a week from Kathmandu.
