One held in connection to cooperative’s funds embezzlement
Myagdi, Feb 21: Police have held Lokesh Pun of Beni Municipality-4 in Myagdi district for his alleged involvement in the embezzlement of Rs 1.49 billion of Kumari Multipurpose Cooperative Limited.
Pun is the former board of directors of the cooperative. He was presented to the court on Thursday, and the District Court has extended the timeline to keep him in custody until February 25.
Police Inspector Sagar Paudel said that Pun will be presented to the court along with five others who were arrested earlier on the funds embezzlement of the same cooperative.
Some 6,000 depositors’ amount worth Rs 1.49 billion is embezzled from Kumari Multipurpose Cooperative Limited, according to a report by the Cooperative Registrar’s Office, Pokhara. —RSS
