CAN InfoTech concludes

Kathmandu, Feb 11: The annual exhibition related to communications and information technology, CAN InfoTech 2025, concluded in the federal capital, Kathmandu.

The event was organized by the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation from February 6 to 10. This marked the 30th edition of the exhibition.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung. In addition to those interested in innovation, startups, technology, and IT entrepreneurship, high-level government officials, students, and policymakers also attended the event.

The organizers shared that the exhibition would contribute to accelerating the Digital Nepal campaign.

Former ministers, including Parbat Gurung and Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani, as well as the Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Sunita Dangol, visited the exhibition.

A variety of IT brands were displayed at the event, where information was provided on telecommunication and internet providers, fintech, e-commerce, cybersecurity, AI, and blockchain.

The innovative technologies, startups, software, and applications produced both domestically and internationally attracted the attention of visitors.

CAN Federation’s Chair, Sunaina Ghimire, stated that the organization would collaborate with the government for the development of the IT sector in Nepal. She also mentioned that the CAN Federation was closely monitoring initiatives related to the Data Protection Act, ride-sharing policies, AI technology, data management, and foreign investment in the sector.

According to the organizers, more than 200,000 people visited the exhibition, and there were a total of 155 display stalls. Interactions and discussions were also held as part of the event.

The General Secretary of the Federation, Chandra Bilash Bhurtel, expressed his belief that the exhibition would give a boost to Nepal’s innovation and IT development.
