Party general convention before election: Thapa
Chitwan, Feb 10: Gagan Kumar Thapa, General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, has stated that the party’s general convention will be held before the 2084 BS periodic elections.
Speaking to the media here today, he mentioned that the party’s general convention will take place every four years, as stipulated by the party’s statute.
According to him, the party is working on finalizing the list of active members within a couple of months.
However, he noted that the issue of party membership and other factors could affect the plan to hold the general convention by the end of 2025.
On a separate note, Thapa stated that the ordinances issued by the government will be tabled in the House within a few days and will be endorsed following discussions.
The lawmaker also added that the Social Media Bill introduced by the government will not be endorsed without amendments.
