Vice President Yadav attends reception organized by Japanese embassy
Kathmandu: Vice President Ram Sahay Yadav attended a reception organized by the Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu today.
Vice President Yadav participated in the welcoming ceremony hosted by the Japanese Ambassador, Maeda Toru, in celebration of Emperor Naruhito’s 65th birthday.
The ceremony, held at the ambassador’s residence in Tahachal, was also attended by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh, former Prime Ministers Jhalanath Khanal and Dr Baburam Bhattarai, former Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, and Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly Bimala Ghimire.
On the occasion, ministers, former foreign ministers, leaders of various political parties, members of parliament, high-ranking officials from the Government of Nepal, professors, industrialists, and businessmen, as well as heads and representatives of diplomatic missions in Nepal and prominent figures from various sectors of society, were present.
During the programme, Ambassador Maeda welcomed the guests and mentioned the long-standing friendly, close, and cordial relations between Japan and Nepal. He noted that the Nepal-Japan relationship is expanding not only at the government level but also among the people, highlighting that a large number of Nepali students are currently pursuing higher education in Japan, particularly in the field of information technology.
Stating that Japan has been supporting Nepal’s economic development in various sectors, Ambassador Maeda informed that more than 200 school buildings have been constructed in Nepal with Japanese assistance following the earthquake that struck in 2015.
