Nepali women’s team becomes runner-up in Kho Kho World Cup

Kathmandu: The Nepali women’s team has become runner-up in the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup Championship.

Nepal was beaten by India in the final match held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, India on Sunday. The Indian team defeated Nepal by a 78-40 score in the final.

Earlier on Saturday, the Nepali women’s team defeated Uganda by 89-18 points in the semi-finals. In the quarter-finals, Nepal had beaten Iran by 103-8 points to enter the semi-finals.

It may be noted that Nepal defeated Bhutan 93-24 points in the first match, Germany by 73-34 points in the second match, Sri Lanka by 110-10 points in the third match and Bangladesh by 84-24 points in the fourth match.

The Nepali men’s team is currently competing with hosts India for the title.
