Birendra Batika to be open for public
Tikapur (Kailali), Jan 12: The Birendra Bishram Batika in the Tikapur Park is being opened for the public.
The executive council meeting of Tikapur municipality recently decided to open the garden for people. Mayor Ramlal Dagaura Tharu said with the decision to make the garden accessible to the public, the entry fee per person is fixed at Rs 20.
There is a residence of the late King Birendra inside the garden. “As the people visiting the park are interested in knowing about the king’s residence, we decided it for their access. It will be in effect from January 14,” he shared. It is said the residence built in the park forty years back has 12 rooms.
The late king used to stay in this residence during his visit to Tikapur. —RSS
