CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Dahal for exerting pressure to conclude peace process
Kathmandu: Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has pointed out the need to exert pressure to conclude the remaining tasks of the peace process and transitional justice.
At a programme organized today on the occasion of the 26th memorial day of a missing then Maoist combatant, Rajendra Dhakal, Chair Dahal shared that the situation calls for exerting pressure by all to take the peace process to a logical conclusion.
Alleging that attempts were made not to take the peace process to a logical conclusion, he said all political parties should be honest to finalize the issues related to the peace process and transitional justice soon.
Chair Dahal further said the CPN (Maoist Centre) would discuss with the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) on this matter.
Similarly, UML leader Agni Kharel said the government and his party are honest in taking the peace process to a logical conclusion.
‘The incumbent government is positive to make the peace process a success. A document presented in CPN (UML)’s central committee meeting has also mentioned it,’ he argued, adding that the government and opposition parties should stand together to conclude the remaining tasks of the peace process.
Likewise, former Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Govinda Bandi, stressed the need to conclude the transitional justice at a consensus between both sides to finalize the transitional justice.
Chairperson of the Nepal Bar Association, Gopal Krishna Ghimire, expressed the view that the country’s image would be ruined internationally if the issues related to transitional justice are deferred further.
