Bhupendra to represent Nepal in Golden Dragon Kung Fu Championship

Kathmandu: Bhupendra Gurung is representing Nepal in the 15th edition of the Golden Dragon Championship to be held in California in the United States of America. He is scheduled to leave for the US on Wednesday.

In the championship to be held in California-based Arcadia High School, Bhupendra will present Nepal’s challenge in two categories. He will showcase his skills in Tai Chi and Traditional Chinese Forms in the age group of 36 years and above.

More than 250 athletes from 30 different countries are participating in the tournament organized by the Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Federation, USA.

It may be noted that Bhupendra has already won three gold medals in three different international tournaments.

He won gold at the World Championships in Germany in 2018, the 7th World Kung Fu Championship in Thailand in 2019 and the European Championship in the United Kingdom in 2022.

He also performed the role of a judge in the 14th National Kung Fu Championship held in Lucknow, India in 2022.

The officials of the Nepal Kung Fu Association bid farewell to Bhupendra amidst a programme here today.
