19 families displaced in Kailali due to flooding
Kathmandu, August 22: Continuous rainfall for the past two days has inundated 158 houses in Kailali district, and 112 people from 19 houses were displaced.
Chief District Officer Dhamendra Kumar Mishra informed that settlements in Bhajani Municipality-3, 4, 5, 8, 7 and 9, Ward 5 and 9 of Ghodaghodi Municipality, Gauriganga Municipality-9 and Kailali Rural Municipality-5 were affected by the inundation.
Similarly, 14 families from Bhajani and five families from Kailali have been displaced. Some of the displaced families are shifted to safer zones.
The CDO-led team monitored the current situation of the flood-affected areas and the ongoing rescue operations. Teams of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepali Army are rescuing local residents in flood affected areas.
The district administration office has issued a notice to move to a safer place as the risk of flooding is still there.
Due to two days of rain, the water flow in Kataini, Shibaganga, Kandra, Pathraiya, Khutia, Mohana and other rivers of the district has flooded the surrounding settlements. RSS
