Minister Pun convenes virtual meeting with 40+ Nepali diplomats for Investment Summit

March 30, Kathmandu: Finance Minister Barsaman Pun conducted a virtual meeting with over 40 Nepali ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions abroad to discuss preparations for the Nepal Investment Summit 2024, scheduled for April 28-29.
The meeting, held via Zoom, also included Chief Secretary Baikuntha Aryal, Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal, and Investment Board CEO Sushil Bhatt.
Minister Pun, representing the Prime Minister, urged the ambassadors and delegation heads to prioritize the Nepal Investment Summit 2024 for the next month, emphasizing its significance for the nation’s honour and prestige. He requested their full dedication to the event and asked for assistance in inviting high-ranking government officials.
Minister Pun highlighted the government’s efforts in implementing policy, procedural, and legal reforms to create a favourable investment environment, urging the ambassadors to inform investors and government agencies abroad about these reforms.
He emphasized the continuity of the government’s investment policy despite minor changes in ministerial positions and stressed the importance of utilizing the knowledge, skills, and technology of non-resident Nepalis in the country’s development.
Additionally, Minister Pun instructed to expedite preparatory work in various countries, including India, China, South Korea, and the Gulf. Ambassadors and Heads of Missions from several countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Bangladesh, India, Oman, South Korea, and Malaysia, participated in the meeting.
