Phurwa Sherpa passed away on his way back after climbing Mt

Phurwa Sherpa, a resident of Sankhuwasabha, who was involved in the expedition, died while returning to the base camp after climbing Mount Everest under the Nepal Army’s Safa Himal Campaign, 2023.

The Directorate of Military and Public Relations of the Nepalese Army said today that efforts are being made to rescue his body.

Likewise, fellow soldier Dipendrasingh Khatri, who was involved in the cleaning of Mount Everest and Lhotse, fell ill on the way back and was brought to Camp-2 with the help of other teams involved in the climb and was taken to Kathmandu for further treatment.

In addition, along with Sahasenani Khatri, three other people have also been brought to Kathmandu for treatment, and the condition of all of them is normal, the directorate said.

Despite the adverse weather conditions, the rest of the mountain cleaning campaign is being carried out under the leadership of Chief Soldier Kishore Adhikari.
