Radio Nepal prepares for its FM transmission from Rukum West

Rukum West: Radio Nepal is preparing to begin its FM transmission from Rukum West.

An FM transmitter will be set up at Janti Basne Lek of Musikot Municipality of Rukum West to expand Radio Nepal’s broadcasting coverage.

A team led by the Executive Director of Radio Nepal Buddhi Bahadur KC carried out a preliminary study reaching the spot. Other study team members include Deputy Executive Director Krishna Chandra Poudel, Director Pushkar Raj Gautam, and Chief Program Officer Gokarna Regmi.

Executive Director KC said the preliminary study showed the effective broadcasting coverage of Radio Nepal in Rukum West and its neighbouring districts after the establishment of the FM transmitter at Janti Basne Lek.

The Executive Director further added that FM broadcasting would be brought into operation soon in collaboration with Nepal Telecom for its tower and other physical infrastructures. Nepal Telecom has its tower and a building in the same place.

The study team also met with the Mayor of Musikot Municipality, Mahendra KC and requested him to facilitate the construction of physical structures at the earliest.

Prior to this, Chief Minister of Karnali Province Raj Kumar Sharma pledged to extend help for expanding Radio Nepal’s broadcasting coverage in Karnali province.
