NEJA Chair calls on PM, DPM

Kathmandu: Chairperson of the Nepal America Journalists Association (NEJA) Bikas Raj Neupane has separately called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Rabi Lamichhane on Thursday.

In a meeting with the Prime Minister, matters related to the freedom of the press and expression and issues of Non-Resident Nepali were discussed, chairperson Neupane informed. “In a meeting with the PM, I briefed him on the issues NEJA has been raising for the rights and welfare of journalists”, he shared.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, NEJA chair Neupane informed him of the role the institution has been playing in the close network of the Nepali community in the US and the problems of non-resident Nepali.

“I also apprised the Home Minister of several initiatives of journalists in different sectors in the US”, he shared.

During the meetings, Lamichhane extended congratulations and best wishes to the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister for their successful tenure.

Neupne arrived in Nepal in course of attending the central general meeting of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) held in Surkhet this month.
