Kathmandu, October 11: Large Muddy Flood Hits Budhi Gandaki River, Residents Urged to Stay Alert

The Flood Forecasting Division has urged residents and travellers along the Budhi Gandaki River to remain alert after a large flood carrying mud began flowing downstream on Sunday morning.

In a notice issued at around six forty AM, the Division reported a major flood in the Budhi Gandaki River originating from Chum Nubri Rural Municipality-6 in Gorkha.

The Division has urged people to stay away from the riverbanks up to the Trishuli confluence and move to higher, safer ground until the flood passes.

Residents and travellers in riverside areas have been advised to take precautions and avoid unnecessary movement near the river to minimise the risk of possible casualties.
