Heavy rainfall likely in various places; Farmers urged for alertness

Kathmandu, Oct 9: There is a chance of rain and snowfall, including thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and strong winds in various parts of the country due to the influence of the western low-pressure system and monsoon winds.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, this afternoon there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in one or two places in the Terai of Koshi Province.

Currently, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, the Madhesh Province, and the Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are generally cloudy. Other areas are partly cloudy.

In one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, there is moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country will generally be cloudy.

The Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, and Sudurpashchim Provinces will also generally be cloudy, while the remaining Terai areas will be partly cloudy, the Department has stated.

There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, and hailstone, in some places of the hilly and mountainous regions.

The meteorological department has indicated that temperatures across the country might drop slightly and that heavy rain is possible in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in a few places in the Terai of Koshi province.

The department has also urged farmers and concerned authorities to regularly check the latest weather updates and forecasts and take necessary precautions. RSS
