Swiss Policy Advisor Lois meets Communication Minister Dr Timilsina

Kathmandu: Isabelle Lois, Senior Policy Advisor at the Swiss Federal Office of Communications, has paid a courtesy call on Communication Minister Dr Bikram Timilsina.

The meeting discussed Nepal-Switzerland cooperation in information and communication technology, including digital security, digital sovereignty and online rights.

Minister Timilsina said Nepal has prioritised digital transformation and is creating a favourable environment to attract investment in the sector.

Lois invited Nepal to participate in the AI Global Summit 2027, scheduled to take place in Geneva on June 21 and 22 next year.

The two sides also discussed Nepal’s possible participation as an observer in the Freedom Online Coalition, which promotes internet freedom, freedom of expression, privacy and online rights.
