Speaker Aryal meets Australian counterpart

Kathmandu: Speaker Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal has held talks with Australian Speaker Milton Dick in Arusha, Tanzania.

The meeting focused on Nepal-Australia relations and parliamentary cooperation.

Aryal thanked Australia for humanitarian assistance and search-and-rescue support following the Bhotekoshi floods. He also sought Australia’s support for Nepal and other mountain countries in international efforts to address climate change.

Aryal highlighted the Nepal-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group as a basis for strengthening parliamentary ties through regular exchanges and parliamentary diplomacy.

Australian Speaker Dick expressed Australia’s interest in further strengthening bilateral and parliamentary relations with Nepal.

The two Speakers are in Arusha to attend the 153rd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
