Bad Weather Disrupts Domestic Flights, Low Visibility Affects Major Routes

Kathmandu, Sept 25: Domestic air services have been disrupted across several destinations due to continuous rainfall and poor visibility caused by adverse weather conditions.

Buddha Air Information Officer Dipendra Karna said flights to Pokhara, Bharatpur and Tumlingtar have been affected by low visibility. Mountain flights have also been suspended due to unfavorable weather.

According to the airline, flights are currently being operated to Bhadrapur, Tumlingtar, Biratnagar, Rajbiraj, Janakpur, Simara, Bharatpur, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Surkhet and Dhangadhi, as well as Varanasi and Kolkata in India, subject to weather conditions.

Meanwhile, Yeti Airlines has warned passengers that flights may be delayed or rescheduled because of the adverse weather. The airline has advised passengers to check the latest flight status through its website or mobile application before leaving for the airport.

Yeti Airlines spokesperson Sudarshan Bartaula said its flight to Pokhara could not operate due to poor visibility, while flights to other destinations were also delayed.

The disruption of domestic flights has also led to increased passenger traffic at Tribhuvan International Airport.
