Both Houses of Federal Parliament to Meet Today

Kathmandu, Sept. 21: Meetings of both houses of Nepal’s Federal Parliament are scheduled to take place today.

The meeting of the House of Representatives will begin at 1 pm at the Federal Parliament Building in Singha Durbar. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal is scheduled to inform the House about a letter received from the Office of the President regarding the authentication of a bill.

Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities Sita Badi is scheduled to present a proposal seeking to send the Children (First Amendment) Bill, 2083 to the concerned committee for clause-wise discussion.

Similarly, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sovita Gautam will present, on behalf of Prime Minister and Defence Minister Balendra Shah, a proposal seeking passage of the National Service Corps Bill, 2083.

The National Assembly meeting is scheduled for 1:15 pm. Agriculture, Forest and Environment Minister Geeta Chaudhary will respond to questions related to her ministry.

She will also present a proposal seeking passage of the Infectious Animal Disease (Control) Bill, 2083.

Meanwhile, meetings of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee, Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, and Infrastructure Development Committee are also scheduled for today.
