Nepal sets UAE 314-run target in ACC Premier Cup final for Asia Cup qualification

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Nepal has set the United Arab Emirates a target of 314 runs in the final of the ACC Premier Cup ODI.

Batting first after winning the toss at Bayumas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Nepal scored 313 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

Opener Asif Sheikh top-scored for Nepal with a century. He made 102 runs from 106 balls, including eight fours and four sixes.

Gulshan Jha scored 52 runs, while Arjun Kumal made 43 and Rohit Paudel scored 40.

Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 18 runs, while Bashir Ahmed remained unbeaten on 15.

For the UAE, Ibrar Ahmed took four wickets, while Khuzayma Tanveer claimed two. Haider Ali and Adeeb Usmani took one wicket each.

The winner of the tournament will qualify for the 2027 Asia Cup, to be held in Bangladesh.
