Before the disaster, 8-10 containers on average used to pass through Korola on a daily basis. But following the disaster, the number of such containers using this route has increased.

According to the Armed Police Force 33 Company Headquarters at Jomsom, the empty containers that departed for Korola via the Beni-Jomsom-Korola road from August 26 to September 3 counted 252.

Similarly, truckloads from China took the customs clearance from the Mustang Customs Office and left for the destinations, according to APF Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deepak Koirala.

With the disruptions along the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border crossing due to devastation, containers supposed to enter Nepal via that route have diverted to Korala, he said.

However, chief of Mustang Customs, Bidur Chudal, said cargos diverted from the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung to Korola have not yet arrived here.
