Foreign Affairs Minister Khanal holds telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart
Kathmandu, Aug. 29: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal today held a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
During the conversation, the two leaders exchanged deepest condolences and sympathies on the loss of lives in both countries caused by the devastating floods at the Rasuwa-Gyirong port area, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
They discussed the ongoing search, rescue and relief operations, including the repatriation of Nepali nationals stranded in China.
Likewise, Minister Khanal thanked the Government of the People’s Republic of China for emergency humanitarian relief support.
The discussion also covered deeper coordination on the sharing of real time hydro-meteorological data between the two countries, and strengthening mechanisms to develop effective early warning system, said the Ministry.
