PM Shah leaves for flood-affected areas in Nuwakot for on-site inspection

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has left for Bidur, Nuwakot, to conduct an on-site inspection of areas affected by the recent floods.

Prime Minister Shah, accompanied by Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal, left for Bidur by road at around 9:30 this morning.

The Prime Minister has been actively monitoring rescue and relief efforts following the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa yesterday, which caused extensive damage to settlements and infrastructure along the riverbanks.

Following the disaster, Prime Minister Shah held high-level meetings and directed the concerned authorities to intensify rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts.

During today’s visit, the Prime Minister and the Infrastructure Minister will assess the physical damage in and around Bidur and discuss relief, rehabilitation and the restoration of disrupted infrastructure with local officials, security agencies and people’s representatives.

They are also expected to issue necessary instructions to ensure the swift delivery of relief to affected communities and accelerate reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.
