President telephones Prime Minister, urges prompt search, rescue operations

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has urged Prime Minister Balendra Shah to mobilise State’s entire mechanisms to undertake search, rescue and relief efforts in the areas affected by the flash flood which occurred in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday morning.

The Head-of-the-State spoke with the Prime Minister on telephone, taking updates of the disaster.

During the conversation, the President urged the Prime Minster to intensify recue, relief and search operations in the affected areas, according to President’s press advisor Kiran Pokharel.

Prior to him, the President said that he was deeply saddened by the loss of life and property by the flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River.

He also called on the government, political parties, social organisations, security agencies, and general public to contribute to the rescue and relief efforts.
