National Assembly approves proposal to send Nepal Special Service Bill to committee

Kathmandu: The National Assembly has unanimously approved a proposal to send the Nepal Special Service Bill, 2083 to the Legislative Management Committee for clause-wise discussion.

Law Minister Sobita Gautam, on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, presented the bill received from the House of Representatives with a message.

During the zero hour, lawmakers raised concerns over women’s and children’s safety, sexual violence, cybercrime and domestic violence. They also demanded justice for those responsible for the rape and murder of three-year-old Garima Chaudhary.

Lawmakers also drew the government’s attention to shortages of doctors and health services in provincial and rural hospitals, including in Bajura, and called for diplomatic initiatives in countries where Nepal does not have embassies.

The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held on September 1 at 1:15 pm.
