Labour Minister Yadav and UAE Ambassador Al Shamsi discuss worker security and diplomatic coordination

KATHMANDU, Aug 24 — Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment, Ramjee Yadav held a bilateral courtesy meeting today with Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Nepal, Abdulla Al Shamsi.
During the meeting, Minister Yadav requested measures to simplify the dual-process requirement for police character certificates for Nepali migrant workers traveling to the UAE, aiming to ease the administrative burden on departing workers.
In response, Ambassador Al Shamsi assured that the UAE government is actively coordinating on the matter and promised continued efforts toward a resolution.
Additionally, both sides agreed to promptly convene a meeting of the Joint Working Group to ensure the effective implementation of existing bilateral labor agreements and understandings between Nepal and the UAE.
