NC issues whip to vote against CM Thapa in Bagmati Province

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has issued a whip to the party members in Bagmati Province Assembly to not vote for Kiran Thapa, who is taking vote of confidence as Chief Minister on Monday.

The NC reminded the members of Bagmati Province Assembly from the party to stand against Thapa. Parliamentary party leader of the NC in Bagmati Province, Pukar Maharjan, issued a whip, asking the party lawmakers to compulsorily attend the Province Assembly meeting and vote against Chief Minister Thapa’s bid of trust.

The Assembly members must not remain neutral but vote against Thapa, Maharjan added. Chief Minister Thapa is scheduled to take vote of confidence as per Article 168 (4) of Constitution and Rule 143 of Bagmati Province Assembly Regulation on Monday.

Thapa, the Province Assembly member belonging to the CPN-UML was sworn-in as the Chief Minister with the support of the Nepali Communist Party and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party few days back.
