Rain-induced disasters disrupt traffic in several districts

Kathmandu: Vehicular movement has been disrupted in several districts due to landslides and other rain-induced disasters.

According to Nepal Police Headquarters, roads in Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, Rukum Paschim, Ilam, Nuwakot, Rolpa and Makawanpur have been affected.

The Mechi Highway has been completely blocked by a mudslide at Rajduwali in Ilam Municipality-9, while the Araniko Highway is blocked by landslides at Kodari and Liping in Sindhupalchowk.

The Pasang Lhamu Highway and Trishuli-Mailung-Syaphrubesi road section have also been obstructed by landslides in Rasuwa.

Similarly, the Jajarkot-Dolpa road has been completely blocked by a landslide at Rijegard in Aathbiskot Municipality-6, Rukum Paschim.

Traffic along the Shaheed Highway in Rolpa was also disrupted following a landslide at Landre in Thawang Rural Municipality-2 this morning.

Authorities have urged travellers to use alternative routes where necessary.
