Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Bhatta receives vote of confidence
Dhangadhi: Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Khagraj Bhatta has received a vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly.
Announcing the result at the Provincial Assembly meeting, Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari said 31 members voted in favour of the motion, while 15 voted against it.
Earlier, Chief Minister Bhatta had tabled a motion seeking a vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly.
Provincial Assembly members from the Nepali Communist Party and the CPN-UML voted in favour of the motion, while members from the Nepali Congress and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) voted against it. Three Nepali Congress members were absent from the meeting.
Bhatta, the leader of the Nepali Communist Party parliamentary party, was appointed Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province on August 14.
