Jajarkot landslide: One killed, three missing

Karnali: One person died in a landslide in Bheri Municipality-2 Risang in the district last night.

According to Police Inspector Sudhir Kumar Khadka of District Police Office, 52-year-old Kedar Karki of Risang died in the incident.

In the incident, 54-year-old Umasinh Khatri, 70-year-old Bhim Bahadur Karki and 87-year-old Rati Khatri of the same ward went missing while nine others were injured.

One of the injured is being treated at Nepalgunj Nursing Hospital, two at Kohalpur Medical College, three at local Daurikanda Medical Centre.

Three others have recovered and returned home. According to the police, in view of the risk of landslides, 200 people from that ward have been transferred to the building of Tribhuvan Basic School.

Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepali Army have been mobilized at the accident site.

According to Police Inspector Krishna Shrestha of the District Police Office, 72-year-old Ammi Gurung died in a landslide this morning. RSS
