At the Ministry-level Development Action Committee organised here today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he informed that different divisions within the ministry are working for the formulation of a country-focused strategic action plan.

“Work is in progress in a way to strengthen the bilateral strategy. We will work focusing on how Nepal can reap maximum benefits from concerned countries through this strategy.” The ministry has put in its efforts to chalk out a strategic plan by mapping the definite priority areas of the concerned countries and keeping them at the centre, Khanal said.

Foreign Minister Khanal further shared that difficulties are being experienced regarding the policy and plan formulation, and implementation due to the unavailability of data on Nepali people living abroad. He stressed the need to ascertain the number of Nepali people living abroad by devising a campaign to that end.

Also present on the occasion were Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Dr Gunakar Bhatta, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, representatives of the foreign ministry and other ministries.
