NSU’s newly-appointed VC Khatiwada assumes office
Kathmandu: Newly-appointed Vice Chancellor of the Nepal Sanskrit University (NSU), Prof Dr Bhim Prasad Khatiwada, took the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday.

Minister for Education and Sports and Pro-Chancellor of the University, Sasmit Pokharel, administered the oath of office and secrecy to Khatiwada amidst a programme at the Ministry of Education.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister and University’s Chancellor, Balendra Shah, had appointed Khatiwada as the VC. According to the ministry, Khatiwada was appointed the VC as per the Nepal Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and Rector Selection and Recommendation Procedure, 2083, on the recommendation of the selection and recommendation committee formed to suggest the names for VC, Rector and Registrar of the NSU.
Khatiwada holds a PhD in the genre of drama and has long been active in the areas of culture, literature and research. Before this, he served the NSU as Acting VC and Rector.
After the swearing-in, Khatiwada pledged to further strengthen the study and research related to art, literature, culture and religion, as well as enhancing the educational quality of the university, and preserving and managing institutional heritage.
